I hear it all the time: Oh, I wish I could get away with {wearing red lipstick, having bangs, rocking leather pants, walking around like a sexy beast, writing a book} but I just can’t. 

Want to know a secret? Yes. You can. 

You can do whatever you want. The difference between you and the woman who rocks the sexy red lips in line at the grocery store? She puts on the lipstick. You don’t. 

What if you changed all that in 2014? What if you made a declaration of who you wanted to be and then committed to that declaration? To actually following through on your plans (and your dreams!), to actually doing the things you most want to do, to actually being the person you previously only thought other people could be?

What if you put your defeatist I’m-not-like-everyone-else attitude away, got out your big girl pants, and made some shit happen for yourself?

What might happen then?

I’ll go first: In 2014, I want to be a person who is on top of her game. 

Yes, I realize that this might be a strong call with twins on the way, but I am tired of feeling like I’m always behind. I’m tired of living amongst piles. I’m tired of being slightly off. I’m tired of being envious of other people and how organized they are. And I’m ready to make that change. For myself. 

Now your turn: What are you going to commit to? What are you going to believe is possible for yourself? What are you ready for?

(Cause, I promise you this: you’re ready. Even if you don’t feel it 100%, the fact that you made it to the bottom of this post means that it’s time. It’s time for you to shine.)

  1. In 2014, I want to be a person who is in shape & fit. I've lost weight before, but have never focused on the exercise portion of it. I started crossfit a month ago and finally feel like I can actually be FIT! Who knew I just had to find something I love doing to be committed to exercise?!? :)
